Fostering In Essex

Foster carers play a vital role in shaping the lives and futures of children across Essex. By opening their homes, they provide the safety, stability and reassurance that vulnerable young people need in order to feel secure and valued. At times when life has felt uncertain, foster carers offer consistent care, encouragement and guidance that can make all the difference.

Every child deserves the chance to grow, achieve and believe in their own potential, regardless of their early circumstances. Foster carers are at the heart of making that possible — helping children rebuild confidence, form healthy relationships and look ahead with hope.

We are currently welcoming enquiries from individuals and families across Essex who are considering fostering. If you live anywhere in the county and would like to explore how you could make a meaningful difference, we would be pleased to speak with you.

Why Foster With Us?

Becoming part of Fostering Hearts is about more than simply starting your fostering journey. It means joining a supportive, family-run community that is genuinely committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children.

We stand alongside our foster carers every step of the way. With low supervising social worker caseloads — around six families — you receive consistent, meaningful support. Alongside 24/7 guidance, we offer comprehensive training, ongoing development and regular supervision to help you feel confident and well-prepared.

We also recognise the practical commitment fostering involves. Our fostering fees are £479.50 per week for children aged 0–10 and £507.50 per week for young people aged 11+, helping to provide financial stability while you focus on providing the best possible care.

Fostering is a significant and deeply rewarding role. When you join Fostering Hearts, you become part of a close-knit network where you are valued, supported and empowered to make a lasting difference.

“We are dedicated to recruiting 40 new fostering families in Essex over the next 36 months, we want to make a real difference locally”
Emma Rawlinson, Registered Manager
