Fostering In Hertfordshire

Foster carers play an essential role in supporting the wellbeing of children across Hertfordshire and throughout the UK. For many young people who cannot live with their birth families, fostering provides the safety, stability and reassurance they urgently need. A secure home environment, combined with patient and consistent care, allows children to begin rebuilding trust and confidence.

By offering steady guidance, encouragement and everyday family experiences, foster carers help vulnerable children move forward positively — regardless of their early circumstances. With the right support around them, young people can develop resilience, believe in their abilities and work towards a brighter future.

At Fostering Hearts, we are proud to support carers in making this lasting difference. If you live in Hertfordshire and have ever considered fostering, we would love to speak with you. Your home could provide the stability and care a child is waiting for.

Why Foster With Us?

As a foster carer with Fostering Hearts, you become part of a close, supportive community focused on providing safe, nurturing homes for vulnerable children. You are never expected to manage the challenges of fostering on your own — we are alongside you at every stage.

Our supervising social workers support a small number of families, around six, which means you receive consistent, responsive guidance. Alongside 24/7 support, we offer comprehensive training, regular supervision and ongoing development to help you feel confident and well-equipped in your role.

We also recognise the commitment fostering requires. Our fostering fees are £479.50 per week for children aged 0–10 and £507.50 per week for young people aged 11+, providing financial stability while you focus on delivering the best possible care.

Joining Fostering Hearts is not just about making a difference — although you certainly will. It is about becoming part of a trusted, family-run organisation where you are valued, supported and empowered to change young lives in a meaningful and lasting way.

“We are dedicated to recruiting 31 new fostering families in Hertfordshire over the next 36 months, we want to make a real difference locally”

Benefits of being a Fostering hearts Carer?

All of our foster carers receive a weekly fostering fee of £479.50 for children aged 0–10 and £507.50 per week for young people aged 11+. This helps provide financial stability and recognises the commitment, time and dedication involved in offering a safe and nurturing home.

Alongside competitive fees, we provide consistent, high-quality support. Our carers have access to 24/7 support from our agency, so guidance is always available when it’s needed. You will also receive regular supervision visits from your supervising social worker, who supports a small number of families — around six — ensuring you receive meaningful, responsive and personalised guidance throughout your fostering journey.

Our mission is to inspire positive aspirations in all our children

At Fostering Hearts, our mission is to nurture hope, confidence and positive ambition in every child we support. We are committed to creating opportunities for growth, achievement and happiness, regardless of a child’s starting point. With consistent care and encouragement, we believe young people can begin to see their own potential and move forward with purpose.

We are not simply looking for people who can offer a spare room. We are looking for foster carers who can provide a stable, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and understood. That includes modelling everyday values such as kindness, responsibility and respect, and helping young people develop the skills they will need as adults.

With the right guidance, patience and positive role models, children can build resilience, form healthy relationships and develop a strong sense of self. Our goal is to ensure that every child in our care is supported to grow into a confident, capable adult who feels ready to take their place in the world.

Let's take the next step and schedule a call. We can discuss any questions you may have, go over important details and make sure we're on the same page. We look forward to connecting with you soon.
