Aware of the financial pressures facing many, particularly in light of council tax increases, we’ve been committed to finding ways to assist.
Proudly, we’ve raised our carers’ fees by 15.5% in the last two years, acknowledging the hard work and commitment you bring to fostering. Yet, with council tax rates climbing at a pace beyond inflation in many areas, we understand the growing concern this causes.
With great pleasure, we unveil a trailblazing initiative, effective from the 1st of March, 2024, crafted to ease the council tax burden for our cherished carers. Positive Aspirations is delighted to be at the forefront, as the first independent fostering agency to introduce such a targeted support measure.
Our council tax support is innovatively designed, featuring a sliding scale of contributions that recognises and rewards your loyalty and dedication to fostering. The intention is twofold: to provide immediate financial alleviation and to encourage ongoing engagement in fostering activities.
This contribution towards your council tax will be made monthly, on the last working day, and is contingent on your active fostering role within that month.
Looking forward, we remain optimistic about the possibility of increasing our carers’ allowances, as we continue our annual discussions with local authorities. We’re focused on delivering support promptly, where it’s most needed.
